What Is Hazard Perception Evaluation(HPE)?

The Hazard Perception Evaluation (HPE) is a tool designed to assess your ability to identify potentially dangerous situations that happen every day on our roadways. The Hazard Perception Evaluation (HPE) is fully localized for 90% of the world’s population.

The Hazard Perception Evaluation (HPE) includes a series of 20 real-life driving scenarios, as well as 28 multiple choice questions.  The scenarios presents you with a driver’s view of the road, as well as a view from the rear and side-view mirrors, capturing the dynamics of driving in the real world.

The assessment is based on performance in 6 core competency areas: Danger Zones, Space Management, Scanning, Attitude, Speed Management, and The Other Motorist. 

The Hazard Perception Evaluation(HPE) is not a one-size-fits-all approach. It is a proactive system that creates a targeted training program tailored to each individual driver. Once the Hazard Perception Evaluation(HPE), you may receive a customized curriculum of Targeted Training modules based on your assessment.
